Proud to be ‘Belfast’!

What a year it’s been for Belfast business!

Investment, opportunity and growth are three words that will frequently appear in a search of recent news stories relating to our city.

Already home to world class digital and ICT experts, it’s now the very heart of the global cyber security industry. It is also trailblazing across various innovative industries from life sciences to manufacturing and construction to aerospace.

And the experts are predicting our communications sector will expand by over 60% in the next 7 years.

The success of Belfast businesses and our growing international stature is in no small way down to the work of championing organisations like the Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce and Belfast City Council.

Both work very hard to drive confidence and growth in our city’s burgeoning business sector.

The annual Belfast Business Awards are one such example.

While uncertainty around Brexit and our stalled political process remain, the Belfast Business Awards are a chance to celebrate the positive and highlight the many excellent businesses regularly overcoming challenges to be the very best in class.

So, it is with no measure of understated pride that team Jago have made the shortlist this year.

And in such great company on the Business Growth category with brilliant growth by FinTru, Dawson Andrews, Keenan Healthcare, Profile Tree and Selective Travel Management also highlighted.

As a Belfast native working with a fab homegrown team in the shadows of Belfast City Hall, a now global landmark, I couldn’t be more delighted to be joining the city’s finest in celebrations this Friday.

We have much to celebrate with over 100 festivals taking place each year, an ever-increasing list of tourism-related accolades including Lonely Planet’s ‘World’s Best Region to Visit in 2018’ and a reputation for exceptional food and drink.

Last year’s ONS well-being survey saw Belfast land in the top 15 happiest cities in the UK.

This comes as no surprise to team Jago as we couldn’t be happier to be based in our brilliant, burgeoning city. Roll on Friday!
