The Transformation of Hillsborough Castle and Gardens

As Spring awakens, the doors of Hillsborough Castle and Gardens open to unveil its splendour to the public once again. Working with Historic Royal Palaces since October 2018, the Jago team has been immersed in the rich history that runs throughout the Castle. Sharing this heritage with the media across Ireland, we brought Hillsborough Castle to Dublin and showcased the majesty of the Castle and its gardens with all those who entered through the gilded gates.

With the official re-opening on the 18th April this year, we spent the sunny afternoon enjoying the full experience of visiting the Castle. Guided tours of the Castle bring the state rooms to life, painting opulent, intricate pictures of the characters that had walked the rooms before us and writing the course of history. Out in the gardens, we wandered the 100 acres, uncovering the beauty of the Walled Garden and the stories of the Ice House, before stopping at Lady Alice’s Temple to capture the perfect Instagram photo – and every burst of colourful flower bud in between.

As the summer draws ever nearer, the Hillsborough Castle and Gardens Food Festival and Horrible Histories Live on Stage mean that there is plenty for everyone in the family to enjoy…and all the more reason for Team Jago to go back.
